Eldon Ross was born January 15, 1914 in Sanilac County, Michigan. He married Iva P. Boardman in Armada, Michigan on August 31, 1935. She preceded him in death on March 30, 1987. Later that year he married Lillian Orsborn, who survives him. Eldon served as a teacher and administrator in a number of Michigan communities including Ypsilanti, Webberville, Haslett and Clio. The districts ranged in size from one-room school houses to suburban systems He retired from the Clio School District in 1973. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1931 and Port Huron Junior College. He earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) in 1950 and a master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1953. He was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio, where he served on a number of committees. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge #469 F&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 236 in Croswell, Michigan. He was also a charter member of the Webberville Lions Club and a charter member and past president of the Clio Lions Club. |
