Richard (Rich) Zalewski
May 19, 1946 -- June 5, 1998

Richard (Rich) Zalewski was born May 19, 1946 in Detroit. He graduated from Tawas Area High school in 1964, and then worked for the U.S. Gypsum Company in Alabaster for 2 years. He attended Michigan State University after which he was employed by the Michigan State Highway department as a contract inspector for 30 years, retiring on May 1, 1997. He played a prominent role in the construction of the rest areas and I-75 and Vienna Rd.. Exit (Clio). He also operated the R.P.M. Sports stores in Frankenmuth , Tawas and Bay City. He was a member of the Clio Lions Club since 1982.
Rich started the 1st Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt in 1982 and was continuously involved with it ever since. He also worked closely with the Leader Dog School in Rochester. Rich was also associated with the Toasters Volley Ball Tournament which raised money for the Clio Little League and the Leader Dog school.
